No,,I am here neither to state any analytical data of this hazardous issue countrywide, you can get that better from news media ; nor to brief "What is pollution, cause and effect" ,as we almost all have an important chapter on this in school books.I am only expressing my concern over this threat , as it is one of the burning topics now-a-days.
We don't pay attention over any issue , until it affects own life and health. We usually go through a news of any issue and turn over the page , scroll down the screen or change channel for the next one. We are very much indifferent to any social, national , International problem ,as those are not directly related to our personal life .
Few months back , we have come to know "Over 7,200 square miles of the Brazilian rainforest has burned"...the main source of Oxygen on earth, is in great danger. Smoke has been spread on vast area of pacific and atlantic region. Global meteorological department is concerned on this matter ; but we seem not so much worried about this issue, even I heard people to say "oh! It is in Brazil, far from our place, we are safe, not to worry".
"Delhi air pollution" is not a current news,, we are hearing about this for last few years. Delhi-NCR people are using mask outside and inside of house ; all sights are almost invisible due to heavy smog ; people are suffering from heavy suffocation, congestion, respiratory problem, skin deases and so on ; Delhi Govt. has orderd "odd-even number vehicle" system to curb the situation ; Even as per SC , It is a question of life and death of crores of people in Delhi-NCR region. Delhi Govt also seeking help from Central Govt on this matter. This issue also has drew attention of WHO, they also have appealed to Indian Govt. to look into the matter.
Till few weeks before, it was only a regional issue,,but after a rain shower and a wind blow, the pollution has been spread over south east region of India and towards Rajasthan. Ptoblems of heavy smog , air congestion, breathing problem are reported from different states.
But we , the common people are completely indifferent on this threat. Instead of being alert ,we are careless about environmental degradation. Two weeks before we have contributed to increase pollution, in air, with festival fire crackers all over the country, in water bodies, by immersing idols ---breaking all HC law & orders.
Among it's many disastrous effects, air pollution increases Global temperature ; Global temperature increases sea level by dissolving glaciers and Poles ; Increased sea level is now a threat of different nations, as it is said , within year 2050, varius countries, cities will be under water due to heavy flood. Approx. 10 crores people ,will be affected world wide, among which 3-4 crores will be from India.
These are very recent effects of Pollution , which I have tried to jot down here, otherwise, this issue is a burning issue since so many decades. But people still are not serious and aware. Still they are showing their cold shoulder towards this threat, as I wrote in beginning, we don't pay attention over any issue ,until it affects own life and health. We will cry, when will suffer from air congestion or pollution caused disease; we will scream ,when will drown under increased water of sea and ocean.
Before expecting drastic step and help from Govt. we , the common people should awaken. Govt. can issue a Law , HC can issue an order ; but people are who, can implement the right step to curb pollution, as people of top most cleanest countries like Finland , Iceland etc have made it possible.

Yes, environmental degradation is now affecting all. We all should do our part. Else another mass extinction is not far.
ReplyDeleteYes, it’s we who need to understand the seriousness of current situation. Its me(as each n Every individual) who need to take proper steps to save this earth nd keep it healthy for our next generation. Let me(we) at least do my part without waiting for someone to take the initiative.
